The faculty and staff in Instructional Support at Weatherford College are excited about our 2010 version of the Summer Bridge program. Developmental education is our "thing"; we know that it is a vital and rewarding part of the college experience for many students. However, we also know that too many students spend unnecessary time and money in these courses that they could avoid by reviewing before they take the assessment/placement test. Our Summer Bridge program will provide that review and retest.

We are currently in the process of restructuring our 2010 version of the Summer Bridge program so that we can better meet the needs of the students.  We will be announcing dates and times for the Summer 2010 version after the first of the year.  Check back with us during our Spring 2010 semester!

This program will focus on helping students review and expand skills on the COMPASS or alternative assessment for placement in college-level courses. 

New brochures will be available soon. We will be happy to provide posters and copies of the brochures along with a PowerPoint CD to help explain the need for these reviews - just give us a call or email. Our hope is that you will be able to share this information with your students who fall in the range of TAKS scores high enough to graduate but not high enough to be placed in college-level courses.
