What is SI?
Supplemental Instruction is a series of weekly study sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. SI is for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades. Attendance is voluntary. SI is a chance to get together with people in your class to compare notes, discuss concepts, develop study skills, and test yourself before your professor does. A trained and certified SI leader will be available to help guide you through the material.
For the Fall 2010 semester, 95% of SI participants received passing grades, compared with 73% of non-SI participants.
Reasons to attend SI:
- It’s free.
- No distractions
- Study in small groups with an experienced SI leader.
- Practice effective learning strategies.
- Impress your peers and professor with your knowledge of the subject.
- Improve your grade!
